Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers!)
What type of church are you?
We are a Christian Church in the Anglican (English) tradition, and are members of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). Our Bishop is the Rt. Rev. Will G. Atwood.
We accept the truth of God's Word; we seek to worship in spirit and truth, we desire the gifts and ministry of the Holy Spirit, and we are committed to advancing God's Kingdom. We want to make a difference in the lives of people in our community, state, nation and around the world.
What is the Anglican Church?
The Anglican Church began as the Church of England which separated from the Church of Rome during the Reformation. As the
spread, the Church of England spread with it bringing its structure and style of worship. There are now Anglican churches throughout the world that are governed by Bishops and priests and share a similar way of worshiping.
Anglicans are evangelical, sacramental and charismatic. This is reflected in our worship which incorporates God's Praise, God's Word and God's Table (Holy Communion).
Why do you worship the way you do?
Our worship is influenced by our Anglican traditions and is patterned after what we see in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.
How do I get more involved?
The way to get involved at Resurrection is to come regularly to the weekend worship celebration, attend various special classes when they are offered, and join a Small Group. Small Groups meet in homes. They are the primary way to build relationships, receive pastoral care and come under the authority and protection of the church.
